What changed
The access path for the Directory of AD Category branches has been updated to a new URL (dbie.rbi.org.in) with detailed navigation steps. The RBIMOF software download path is also revised to a new sequence under Notifications > FEMA > Electronic Reporting System. All other instructions from the 2007 circular remain unchanged.
What it means for you
Banks must update their internal procedures to use the new web paths for generating branch directories and downloading the RBIMOF application. This ensures data compatibility and accurate reporting of branch categorisation changes to RBI's Department of Statistics and Information Management. Non-compliance could lead to reporting delays or data mismatches.
What you must do
- Update your internal SOPs to use the new URL (dbie.rbi.org.in) for accessing the Directory of AD Category branches.
- Ensure all branch category changes are reported using Proforma I or II and emailed to DSIM as per earlier circulars.
- Download the latest RBIMOF.exe from the revised path on RBI website and use it to prepare Proforma data.
- Train branch forex heads on the new navigation steps for generating the directory report.
Who it affects
All Category-I Authorised Dealer banks, Forex branch managers and reporting teams, Compliance and IT departments handling RBI reporting
What is the new URL for the Directory of AD Category branches?
The new URL is http://dbie.rbi.org.in/. Detailed navigation steps are provided in Annex-II of the circular.
Do we still need to use the RBIMOF software?
Yes, the RBIMOF application package is still required for preparing Proforma I and II data. The download path has been updated to: Home Page → Notification → FEMA → Electronic Reporting System → Reporting Mechanism → Data of Authorised Dealers Category Branches.
What happens if we continue using the old access path?
The old path is no longer valid. Using it may result in inability to generate the directory report or download the software, leading to non-compliance with reporting requirements.
